The Angolan Cargo and Logistics Certification Regulatory Agency (ARCCLA) and MAQTA Technologies LLC-SP have signed a strategic agreement for the operationalisation of the Angolan Single Logistics Window (JUL), an instrument approved by Presidential Decree No. 127/21.

The signing of this agreement took place on the sidelines of an official visit by His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, who is in Angola at the invitation of the Head of State, João Lourenço, for a 48-hour visit. The ceremony is part of a series of bilateral agreements aimed at strengthening co-operation between the two countries.

The Single Logistics Window (JUL) is a modern tool for planning, executing and monitoring the entire national logistics chain, ensuring interoperability and integration of the different stakeholders in the sector.

With its implementation, the Angolan State intends to achieve, among others, the following strategic objectives:

  • Ensure cross-sector visibility and traceability of the movement of goods and logistics services within the country.
  • Integrate land, road, air, rail, and sea transportation methods, in a fully intermodal approach.
  • Determine and control the origin and flow of products in Angola;
  • Promote the integration of the Logistics Platforms that make up the National Logistics Network.
  • Significantly reduce transaction and operational times in the logistics chain.

JUL represents a decisive step towards the modernisation of the logistics and transport sector in Angola, enabling the simplification of processes and procedures inherent to the activity of operators, which will translate into greater economic efficiency and direct benefits for the population.

The operationalisation of this platform is part of the Angolan government's vision of consolidating a modern, integrated and competitive logistics system, capable of boosting economic development and strengthening Angola's position as a strategic trade and transportation hub in the region.
