The Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) has condemned two violent incidents on 11 November 2025. A DMU2 train operating near Tema was attacked with stones, and later the General Manager of passenger services in Tema was assaulted while travelling home. He is receiving medical care, and the Authority is supporting him and his family.
The GRDA says these incidents form part of a wider pattern of violence and vandalism that threatens staff safety and railway infrastructure. The Authority is working with law enforcement to investigate and bring those responsible to justice.
Effective immediately, the GRDA has ordered all unauthorised occupants and structures along the railway corridor to vacate the area, with eviction processes commencing at once. The Authority urges the public to respect railway property and report any relevant information to the authorities.
