Botswana Railways has appointed Mr. Baboloki Phuthego as Acting General Manager effective 18 July 2025, ensuring leadership continuity during the recruitment of a permanent General Manager. Currently Director of Engineering, Mr. Phuthego brings over 20 years of railway sector experience, with qualifications from the University of Leeds and specialised training in railway engineering and management. He has led key projects and held senior roles, including board positions at Searail Botswana and BR Properties Pty Ltd. His leadership is expected to support Botswana Railways’ transformation into a profitable entity.
