Hon. Keoagile Atamelang, MP for Boteti East, was sworn in on 21 August as Botswana's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, following his appointment by President Duma Gideon Boko on 19 August 2026.
Atamelang succeeds former Minister Noah Salakae, who resigned from Cabinet with immediate effect after being summoned by the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) on 13 August 2026 to appear in court in relation to corruption allegations. Announcing his resignation, Salakae said the decision did not constitute an admission of guilt or liability regarding the allegations under scrutiny.
Hon. Letlhogonolo Barongwang, MP for Mogoditshane East, was appointed Assistant Minister of Transport and Infrastructure alongside Atamelang. Both appointments took effect on 19 August 2026, and both were sworn into office on 21 August 2026.
