Botswana CEO Axed After Train Derailment

Botswana Railways (BR) chief executive officer, Dominic Ntwaagae has been relieved of his post by the minister of transport and communications, Kitso Mokaila, following a train derailment that occurred on 22 February. As reported by Railways AfricaTM, a freight train coming from Mafikeng in South Africa derailed between Lobatse and Gaborone as a result of severe flooding in the wake of tropical cyclone Dineo, which affected large parts of South Africa, Mozambique and Botswana in mid-February.
