Plans to transfer the Alexandria–Matrouh railway line between the Fouka region and Sidi Abdel Rahman station in Marsa Matrouh, along with updates on the sixth metro line project, were also reviewed.
The meeting further covered developments in Egypt’s maritime transport strategy under Vision 2030, including seaport expansion projects such as new piers and terminals, breakwaters, dredging works and navigation channel deepening.
Efforts to strengthen cooperation with African countries, particularly Djibouti and Tanzania, through joint development projects were also highlighted.
The President emphasised the importance of completing all transport projects on schedule, maintaining high quality standards, advancing mass transit systems, localising the transport industry, and maximising the value of existing infrastructure to support investment, tourism and job creation.
