Transnet Freight Rail Scoops Logistics Awards

Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) has recently seen its Road to Rail efforts come to fruition in one of the industry’s biggest awards; the Logistics Achiever Awards (LAA). This is fresh off the cuffs of a tonnage record-breaking year and TFR being the only Organisational Division to be awarded the Top Employer certification for a third consecutive year.

In this year’s LAA, which was held on the 2nd November 2017, Transnet entered four projects in the 2017 Logistics Achiever Awards contest and all four entries made it to the finalist stage.  Being so well represented amongst 15 very competitive finalists was a great achievement in itself.

The Company scooped two of only three Platinum Awards presented – an outstanding achievement amongst stiff competition from logistics industry players.  Platinum awards were made to Saldanha Offloading Terminal and to the Ceres Rail Development.  It also achieved two Gold Awards.  These were awarded to the Postmasburg Manganese Common User Facility and to the AMSA Elandsfontein Steel Hub

Said Chief Executive of TFR, Ravi Nair, “These accolades truly reflect the results of our efforts in driving our Road to Rail strategy and re-positioning the organisation as a key player in the country’s Logistics industry. The entries all reflect key elements of innovation; Customer, Transnet and Supply Chain collaboration and a significant role in contributing to national objectives”.
