The Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) has announced the temporary suspension of the Mukuba Cross-Border Train Services for one week to allow for planned maintenance works.
The suspension will run from 26 May to 1 June 2026, during which annual mechanical maintenance, internal inspections and essential servicing works will be carried out on rolling stock and related operational systems.
According to TAZARA, the planned maintenance programme is intended to enhance operational safety, reliability and service efficiency, in line with the authority’s commitment to providing safe, reliable and cost-effective rail transport services.
Normal train operations are expected to resume on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, with the Dar es Salaam-bound train.
Passengers and customers have been advised to plan their travel arrangements accordingly during the suspension period.
