Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) has instituted investigations into the derailment of Passenger Train 358, commonly known as the Mulobezi Mixed Train, which derailed at 13:10 on 15 September 2026 between Kalamba and Siambizi on the Mulobezi line.
ZRL confirmed that no deaths or injuries were recorded in connection with the incident. Technical teams were dispatched to the site, and the investigations are intended to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the exact cause of the derailment.
The company said the safety and welfare of passengers, staff and the general public remain its highest priority, and that further information on the incident, including any operational implications, would be communicated through appropriate channels.
