Why it Matters
The appointment adds senior strategic and public sector experience to NRZ’s executive support structure at a time when railway operators across the region are under pressure to strengthen governance, planning and institutional delivery.
Mr Machigere’s background across transport, tourism, urban planning, investment promotion and board-level committee work gives the appointment relevance beyond a standard personnel update, particularly for stakeholders watching Zimbabwe’s rail sector leadership capacity.
