Key Dignitaries Arrive in Zambia for Foundation Stone Ceremony Launching TAZARA Railway Rehabilitation Project
The Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, arrived in Lusaka, Zambia on 19 November 2025, where he represented the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, at the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony marking the launch of the major rehabilitation of the TAZARA Railway, held on 20 November 2025 in Lusaka.
Accompanied by other leaders, the Vice President, H.E. Dr Nchimbi, was joined by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Prof. Godius Kahyarara; the Director General of Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC), Eng. Machibya Shiwa, and the Director General of TASAC, Mr Mohamed Salum.
