The Role of the 4th Industrial Revolution and Transport

Dr Amonya has over 20 years of experience in infrastructure policy and investment management. This experience covers both research and practice. On the latter, he has advised governments and multilateral development banks, investment banks, lenders to infrastructure concessions, and infrastructure asset managers drawn around the world.

He views the policy space as dynamical and non-ergodic. That view challenges the traditional expectation of stable trajectories (deterministic or stochastic) at the outset of projects. He is a Chartered Engineer and holds a PhD in policy science.

Our conversation covers a few key topics:

  • What is 4IR and how will it affect rail in Africa?
  • How are the governments of Africa preparing for 4IR?
  • How will the challenges you have identified be resolved?
