Siemens Mobility has announced the appointment of Florian Kellenberger as Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Mobility South Africa, effective 1 April 2026. The appointment marks a strategic leadership move, reinforcing the company’s commitment to advancing sustainable, future-ready rail and transport solutions across the region.
With more than 23 years of experience at Siemens, Kellenberger brings a rich blend of operational excellence, transformational leadership, and deep industry expertise to his new role. Prior to his appointment, he served as Head of Operations for Rail Infrastructure at Siemens Mobility GmbH in Germany, where he led manufacturing, logistics, order management, digitalisation, EHS and quality management across three sites with over 1,200 employees.

Throughout his tenure with Siemens, Kellenberger has held senior positions across several business units, including Digital Industries, Siemens Real Estate, and Siemens Advanta. His experience spans operational excellence, leadership, lean transformation, strategic & operations consulting, and project execution. This broad, cross-functional background equips him with a holistic perspective on industrial performance, technological innovation, and organisational development.
As CEO, Kellenberger will oversee Siemens Mobility’s portfolio in South Africa, with a focus on strengthening local operational capabilities, enhancing digital and sustainable mobility solutions and accelerating partnerships with public- and private-sector stakeholders.
Patrick Moodley, outgoing CEO of Siemens Mobility South Africa, has been appointed Head of Customer Service for Siemens Mobility Middle East and Africa.
