The 21-day programme provides Nigerian railway officials and technical experts with structured exposure to railway operations, maintenance and technology through lectures, case studies, seminars and on-site training in China.
Participants are also receiving direct exposure to CRSC’s train control, CBTC urban rail signalling, research and manufacturing capabilities as part of technical cooperation focused on Nigeria’s railway modernisation.

Nigeria’s Railway Transport Operations and Maintenance Training Programme began at the Beijing headquarters of China Railway Signal & Communication Corporation (CRSC) on 5 August 2026.
The 21-day programme is sponsored by China’s Ministry of Commerce, organised by the Academy for International Business Officials, supported by China’s National Railway Administration and hosted by CRSC. It includes 25 Nigerian officials and technical specialists from the Federal Ministry of Transportation, railway organisations, engineering departments and state transport agencies.
Participants are receiving classroom instruction, case studies, technical seminars and practical training covering railway operations, maintenance and signalling systems. On 6 August, the delegation visited CRSC laboratories and facilities focused on CTCS train control, CBTC urban rail signalling and related technologies, before visiting the Beijing Railway Signal Factory to observe signal equipment manufacturing.
The programme forms part of technical cooperation between China and Nigeria in railway operations, maintenance and technology transfer.
