Uganda Railways Corporation has opened an international procurement process under the East Africa Community Railway Rehabilitation Support Project.
The tender covers the supply, delivery and commissioning of 24 liquefied petroleum gas cargo tanks, together with portable loading and off-loading equipment. The appointed supplier will also be responsible for training Uganda Railways Corporation maintenance and operations personnel.
The equipment is to be delivered and commissioned at the Uganda Railways Corporation workshops in Nalukolongo, Kampala.
The procurement forms part of the African Development Bank-financed refurbishment of the Kampala–Malaba metre-gauge railway line. Bidding is being conducted through an international open competitive process using a one-envelope procedure.
