CAMRAIL, the concessionaire of Cameroon’s railway network, announces the arrival of a batch of 683 high-performance monobloc wheels intended for axles, flatbed wagons, and locomotives.
This acquisition, valued at 1,026,000,210 CFA francs, marks a key milestone in the company’s rolling stock modernisation and maintenance programme.
The wheels, manufactured by Bonatrans Group A.S, a global leader in the production of railway components, constitute the first delivery of a total order of 1,168 wheels. The selection of Bonatrans Group A.S, based in the Czech Republic, was driven by the company's internationally recognised expertise. These 683 monobloc wheels meet the highest standards of railway safety and durability.

"This delivery aligns with our strategy to enhance the safety and reliability of our railway network and fleet. These state-of-the-art wheels will optimise the performance of our trains while significantly reducing long-term maintenance costs," said Samy Soro, Rolling Stock Director at CAMRAIL.
This acquisition is fully in line with CAMRAIL’s comprehensive policy of preventive and corrective maintenance. It will also contribute to reducing technical downtimes and maintaining a high availability rate of wagons.
The arrival of these 683 monobloc wheels at CAMRAIL’s workshops comes as the company prepares to acquire an additional 100 flatbed wagons to boost its transport capacity.
This initiative highlights CAMRAIL’s commitment to investing in high-quality equipment and its clear ambition to modernise rail transport in Cameroon for the benefit of both users and the national economy.
