CAMRAIL Invites Bids for Concrete Sleepers

CAMRAIL has issued an open international invitation for bids for the local production and supply of 404,000 bi-block reinforced concrete sleepers for the Douala–N’Djamena Rail/Road Corridor project.

CAMRAIL is acting as Purchaser under the delegated project management authority conferred on it by the Republic of Cameroon as part of the implementation of Five-Year Railway Investment Programme No. 2. The Government of Cameroon has received an IDA credit from the World Bank, Credit No. 7036-CM, to finance the project and intends to use part of the proceeds for the sleeper supply contract.

The scope covers the local production and supply of 404,000 bi-block reinforced concrete sleepers within 32 months from contract signature. The contractor will also be required to load the sleepers onto the Purchaser’s wagons at designated stations or points, including Dibamba, Kendeck, Pitti, Loungahé, Logbadjeck, Malimba, Mbengue, Makondo, Hikoa-Malep, Eseka, Makak, Minka, Otélé, Ngoumou, Binguela and Mbalngong.
