A new rail supply tender has been issued for Cameroon’s Douala-N’Djamena Corridor project.
Camrail has issued an Open International Invitation for Bids for the supply of 512,700 linear metres of 54-kilogram rail for the Regional Project for the Improvement of the Performance of the Douala-N’Djamena Rail/Road Corridor.
The project is being implemented under the Douala-N’Djamena Corridor Performance Improvement Project, financed through an IDA credit from the World Bank. Camrail is acting as the purchaser under the delegated project ownership authority granted by the Republic of Cameroon as part of the country’s Five-Year Railway Investment Programme No. 2.
The contract covers the supply of 512,700 linear metres of 54-kilogram rail on a CIP Douala basis, with delivery required within 18 months from the signing of the contract. The supplier will also be responsible for unloading the rails at the destination quay at the Port of Douala for each partial delivery and loading the rails onto the purchaser’s wagons on the quayside track.
Procurement will be conducted through international competitive bidding in line with the World Bank Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, seventh edition, September 2025. Bids will be evaluated using a weighting of 50% for rated criteria, including technical and non-price factors, and 50% for the cost of the bid.
Eligible bidders may request the bidding documents in French from Camrail by email. The deadline for submission is 2 June 2026 at 09:00 GMT, 10:00 local time. Electronic submission will not be permitted, and late bids will not be accepted.
