AGL Cameroon and CAMRAIL Strengthen Their Commitment to Innovative and Sustainable Transport and Logistics at the Cameroon Economic Forum

Africa Global Logistics (AGL) Cameroon and Cameroon Railways (CAMRAIL), both subsidiaries of AGL, actively participated in the Cameroon Economic Forum, held on February 26-27, 2025, under the theme: "Reviving Cameroon’s Economy in a Rapidly Changing Global Landscape: What Are the Key Solutions?"
Presided over by Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute, this first edition, organized by the Cameroon Business Group (GECAM), brought together public decision-makers, international experts, and private sector companies to explore strategic levers for economic recovery.
During the two-day discussions, AGL Cameroon and CAMRAIL highlighted their expertise and innovative solutions to support the country’s logistics transformation. Their commitment was reflected in strategic Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings with institutional and professional partners, focusing on the industry's challenges and opportunities. AGL Cameroon emphasized three major strategic pillars:
- Enhancing trade flow efficiency by offering tailored logistics solutions for the Cameroonian and regional markets.
- Accelerating the digitalization of logistics services to improve operational efficiency and boost the competitiveness of local businesses.
- Developing sustainable and eco-friendly logistics solutions aligned with Cameroon’s green transition and industrialization goals.
"Our participation in the Cameroon Economic Forum provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen dialogue with stakeholders and reaffirm our commitment to modern, efficient, and sustainable logistics. AGL Cameroon will continue to support the development of strategic infrastructure and services to drive the country’s growth," said Mama Nsounchiat Fit, Deputy General Manager of AGL Cameroon.
In addition to contributing to panel discussions, CAMRAIL showcased its passenger and freight transport solutions. The railway operator also welcomed numerous visitors to its stand, eager to learn more about railway operations and their economic impact.
"Beyond providing mobility solutions, we facilitate port clearance, enhance corridor competitiveness, and stabilize hydrocarbon prices. Cameroon’s railway also plays a crucial role in exporting significant volumes of goods such as timber, cotton fiber, sesame, and gum arabic—many of which originate from Chad and the Central African Republic. These exports generate vital foreign exchange revenue," stated Alain Minoué, CAMRAIL’s Commercial and Marketing Director.
As a key strategic partner for industries and businesses, CAMRAIL enables the efficient transportation and distribution of goods across Cameroon. The railway network ensures seamless trade flows both domestically and regionally. CAMRAIL invests nearly XAF 12 billion annually and contributes around XAF 10 billion in taxes and duties to the state, reinforcing its role as a major economic and social driver.
