UK RAIL PROFITS RISE, PERFORMANCE FALLS

Network Rail in the UK saw pre-tax profits increase 10.8%, the BBC reports, but punctuality figures fell to 90.9% from 91.5%, due mainly to the severe winter weather. The company cut costs by nearly 400m and says it is on target to meet "challenging efficiency savings" demanded by the Office of Rail
