North Macedonia Issues Tender for Rail Joint Border Station Supervision Services

The Ministry of Transport and Communications of North Macedonia (MoTC) has launched an open tender for consultancy services related to project implementation support and supervision for the Rail Joint Border Station (RJBS) in Tabanovce. The procurement is being financed through a combination of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and an investment and technical assistance grant from the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF).

The procurement, which falls under the Bank's Infrastructure Europe sector, was published on 25 June 2025 and is open for response until 8 August 2025. Interested firms can participate through the EBRD’s Client E-Procurement Portal (ECEPP). Access to the opportunity, including all technical and financial documentation, is available at: https://ecepp.ebrd.com/respond/2YHN8F74NS.

The scope of the contract includes supervision of the upgrade and energy-efficiency renovation of existing rail station buildings, the construction of new high-performance buildings, and associated infrastructure. This includes a new 900-metre access road connecting the existing road network with the RJBS, as well as the integration of renewable energy solutions, specifically rooftop solar photovoltaic installations.

The project supports North Macedonia’s efforts to modernise its railway border infrastructure while contributing to the region’s energy transition goals. Participation in the tender is open to firms from any country, as outlined in the EBRD’s Procurement Policies and Rules.
