Skoda Transportation subsidiary OOO Vagonmasouble, based in the Czech Republic, has won a 3.8 billion rouble contract to supply eight six-car trainsets for St Petersburg metro Line 3. The vehicles will be lighter than those of the metro's existing fleet, due to the use of aluminium sandwich panels.
