Guinea’s Minister of Transport and Government Spokesperson, Ousmane Gaoual Diallo, met with a Canadian economic delegation on 4 June 2026 to discuss investment opportunities in the country’s transport sector.
The delegation was led by Alain Carrier, Director of the Economic Department at Investissement Québec International, and included representatives from seven Canadian companies. The meeting focused on potential Canadian participation in the development and financing of transport infrastructure in Guinea.
Discussions covered investment priorities across public mobility, logistics, major infrastructure, digital transformation and skills development. For the Ministry of Transport, these areas form part of a wider effort to modernise national transport systems and strengthen Guinea’s economic infrastructure.
Key priorities presented during the meeting included the restructuring of urban and interurban transport networks, the modernisation of supply chains, and the optimisation of transport corridors. The Ministry also highlighted the need to strengthen port and airport platforms, improve digital systems for transport services and flow management, and develop specialised training programmes in digital technology and logistics.
The engagement points to Guinea’s continued effort to attract international technical and financial partners for transport-sector development. For Canadian companies, the discussions outlined potential opportunities linked to infrastructure delivery, logistics systems, technology integration and capacity building.
The meeting forms part of wider efforts to strengthen strategic cooperation between Guinea and Canada, with transport infrastructure positioned as a key area for future collaboration.
