German quiet track strategy

The German government is planning to ban "noisy" railway goods wagons from 2020. To qualify for noise abatement funding, the minimum threshold was reduced in 2015 to 5 decibels. A further cut – to 3 decibels – is planned now. Transport and digital infrastructure minister Alexander Dobrind
