On 12 March 2026, the Democratic Republic of the Congo signed a concession agreement with Boston Developers Ltd for the development of a Congolese dry port at Kwala in Tanzania. The agreement was signed by DRC Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Jean-Pierre Bemba and Tanzania’s Minister of Transport Makame Mbarawa, reflecting strengthened bilateral cooperation. The dry port is intended to facilitate customs clearance, improve cargo traceability for Congolese imports and exports, and help combat fraud while supporting closer economic integration between the two countries.
