CZECH RAIL IN PROFIT

The Czech national railway Ceske Drahy (CD) generated a preliminary profit of Kc50m in 2007, its first profit ever, CEO Josef Bazala has announced. Freight revenue increased by 5% to Kc15.6bn. The number of passengers rose by 1% to 184 million, and passenger transport sales were up 8.5% at over Kc5.
