Agreement with Tanzania Railways Corporation and ITS Engineering for New Railway Projects and Infrastructure Development

The agreement gives Tanzania Railways Corporation access to multidisciplinary engineering expertise covering feasibility studies, infrastructure design, technical assessments, sustainability, safety, digitalisation and technological innovation. These capabilities could support the identification and preparation of future railway and logistics projects.

FS Engineering’s proposed contribution also includes its Digital Control Room, which uses digital systems, drones and data analytics to monitor major infrastructure projects in real time. The next stage will involve operational discussions to identify priorities and determine which projects may be developed jointly.

FS Engineering is strengthening its international growth path through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) and ITS Engineering, aimed at exploring opportunities for collaboration in the development of infrastructure and mobility projects in Tanzania.

The agreement was signed at the headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport by Dario Lo Bosco, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of FS Engineering, Machibya Masanja Shiwa, Director General of Tanzania Railways Corporation, and Michele Titton, Sole Director of ITS Engineering. The signing ceremony was attended by Edoardo Rixi, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of Italy, and Makame Mnyaa Mbarawa, Tanzania’s Minister of Transport.

The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation designed to foster the development of initiatives in the railway, logistics and infrastructure sectors, promoting technical dialogue and the exchange of expertise in strategic areas including sustainability, digitalisation, safety and technological innovation. FS Engineering will contribute its multidisciplinary know-how through specialised consultancy services, feasibility studies, design activities and technical-strategic assessments, supporting the identification of innovative solutions and the definition of future projects of mutual interest.

Among the areas of excellence that FS Engineering will make available is its Digital Control Room, the advanced command-and-control platform developed for the monitoring and integrated management of major infrastructure projects. Based on cutting-edge technologies, digital systems, drones and data analytics tools, the platform enables real-time project monitoring, enhancing safety, operational efficiency and decision-making capabilities. This model reflects the innovative approach of the FS Group’s engineering company and will facilitate the transfer of expertise and technological solutions.
