Africa Global Logistics and Yusen Logistics officially launched Yusen Africa (East Africa) Limited

Africa Global Logistics (AGL) and Yusen Logistics officially announced the launch of Yusen Africa (East Africa) Limited, a new joint venture company headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. The launch marked the operational start of the partnership between the two groups and the formal unveiling of the company’s name.

Yusen Africa (East Africa) Limited now operates from Kenya and across Eastern Africa, delivering integrated freight forwarding and logistics solutions tailored to the region’s growing trade and supply chain needs. The company is positioned as a leading integrated freight forwarding (IFF) and logistics provider, offering end-to-end services including freight forwarding, multimodal transport, warehousing, customs brokerage, cold chain, e-commerce, and project logistics.

The launch followed the signing of a Joint Venture Agreement between Yusen Logistics Global Management Co., Ltd. and AGL Kenya Limited, a subsidiary of Africa Global Logistics. Kenya serves as a strategic gateway for regional operations, supporting key trade corridors including the Northern Corridor, the Central Corridor, and the Ethiopia–Djibouti corridor.

By combining AGL’s strong regional presence and local market expertise with Yusen Logistics’ global network, digital platforms, and international supply chain capabilities, Yusen Africa (East Africa) Limited aims to support customers operating across sectors such as automotive, healthcare, FMCG, infrastructure, and industrial projects.

“The launch of Yusen Africa (East Africa) Limited demonstrates our long term commitment to Africa. By bringing together global expertise and technology with deep local capabilities, we are well positioned to support our customers as they grow across Eastern Africa,” said Hiroyuki Okamoto, President and COO, Yusen Logistics Global Management Co., Ltd.

“We are honoured to inaugurate here in Nairobi the joint venture that allows us to combine AGL expertise in the East Africa region with the strength of Yusen Logistics for the benefit of our customers. This partnership enables us to provide more integrated, efficient and high value logistics solutions, while supporting the region’s economic development,” added Eric Melet, CEO International Logistics and Railways, Africa Global Logistics.
