Tunisia’s Société des Transports de Tunis, TRANSTU, has launched a call for expressions of interest for consultancy studies linked to the planned extension of Line 6 of the Tunis light metro towards El Mourouj 6.
The proposed extension is approximately 2km and will support the further development of Tunis’s urban transport network. TRANSTU is seeking national or international engineering firms, or consortia of firms, with proven experience in the design and engineering of urban transport systems.
The assignment will cover three main phases: data collection, analysis and complementary studies; detailed preliminary design; and the preparation of tender documents for project implementation.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate relevant experience in tramway or metro projects. Single engineering firms are required to hold valid A1-type approval if based in Tunisia, or equivalent documentation if based outside the country, and must have completed at least two comparable tramway or metro studies within the past ten years.
For consortia, the lead member must be the majority participant and must have completed at least one comparable tramway or metro study during the same period.
Applications close on 9 June 2026 at 10:00 local time, with the public opening scheduled for 11:00 on the same day at TRANSTU headquarters.
