Casablanca, 24 September 2025 – Following the launch by His Majesty King Mohammed VI of the construction of the Kenitra–Marrakech High-Speed Line, the Sovereign has inaugurated the start of work on major structuring projects in the Greater Casablanca metropolitan area. Valued at 20 billion dirhams, these projects represent a decisive step in the implementation of this ambitious national initiative.
The programme includes:
- 260 km of new electrified tracks
- Construction and widening of 50 engineering structures
- Construction and reinforcement of 11 electrical substations
- Construction of 10 new local stations
- Requalification and adaptation of 5 existing stations
- Construction of 3 new-generation stations
- Construction of 2 technical centres and 5 maintenance workshops
- Acquisition of 48 new trains for local and regional services
