Eswatini Railways and South Africa’s Railway Safety Regulator have held bilateral talks aimed at strengthening cooperation on railway safety across Southern Africa’s regional corridors.
The meeting in Mbabane brought together delegations led by Eswatini Railways Chief Executive Officer Nixon Dlamini and Railway Safety Regulator Chief Executive Officer Brian Monakali.
Discussions focused on emerging railway safety challenges, regulatory compliance, the harmonisation of safety practices and opportunities for closer collaboration between the two organisations.
Eswatini Railways said the engagement supports its efforts to protect employees, railway infrastructure and equipment, as well as communities located alongside railway corridors.
Continued cooperation with regional partners is expected to contribute to safer and more reliable railway operations while supporting regional integration and economic development.
