CSEE and its partners, SITE and GCF, will provide signalling and telecommunications for the Kenitra-Marrakech High Speed Line in Morocco
In May this year, La Compagnie des Signaux (CSEE), a provider of high-speed signalling systems, and its partners SITE SpA and GCF SpA, signed a contract with the Office National des Chemins de Fer (ONCF) for the supply and installation of the ERTMS level 2 signalling system and telecommunications for the new Kenitra-Marrakech High-Speed Line.
The Kenitra-Marrakech high-speed rail line, the new backbone of the country's development
Building on the success of the first high-speed Tangier-Kenitra line, and in preparation for the upcoming Football World Cup 2030, the ONCF launched the high-speed line project between Kenitra and Marrakech, which will connect the new intermodal stations of Casablanca and Marrakech, the Moulay Abdellah and Hassan II stadiums and the airports of Rabat and Casablanca.

A major contract covering signalling and telecoms
Under the contract, the company will supply electronic interlocking, automatic train protection (ATP) and automatic train control (ATC) systems, based on ERTMS 1 & 2 technology, to equip the new 430 km line. SITE SpA will supply the telecommunications network, including cybersecurity, and the power supply system.
GCF SpA will carry out the equipment installation. The system will enable safe commercial operation of the new line at 320 km/h.
Pascault, President of Compagnie des Signaux, expressed pride in the trust placed in CSEE and its partners by ONCF. He noted that the project is highly ambitious, both technically and in terms of timelines. CSEE’s recent achievements, including the modernisation of the Paris–Lyon high-speed line, have reinforced confidence in the company’s ability to meet such challenges. The contract is expected to mobilise more than one hundred engineers and technicians in France, while also supporting the development of an engineering centre in Morocco dedicated to high-speed ERTMS systems. This initiative is anticipated to enhance the international standing of Moroccan railway expertise.
