SRI LANKA'S COLOMBO-JAFFNA LINE REOPENS

Closed 24 years ago during Sri Lanka's 1983 to 2009 civil war, the railway linking the capital Colombo to Jaffna in the country's north has been reopened. Renovated and rebuilt, Jaffna station was decorated for President Mahinda Rajapaksa's inauguration of the restored line.
