Rail India Technical and Economic Services Ltd (Rites), an Indian-government-owned concern, is to run Saudi Arabia's 1,500 km new north-south railway on behalf of the Saudi Railway Company (SRC). The contract is to end in December 2013, at which time passenger service is to be launched.
