According to minister of state for international cooperation Khalid Bin Mohammad Al-Attiyah, Qatar is keen to participate in Central Asia's proposed 992km north-south railway to the Persian Gulf. The line would be used initially by Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to transport goods through Iran to ports
