MUMBAI HUNGER STRIKERS DISMISSED

A hunger strike by suburban electric train drivers in Mumbai prevented some 7 million commuters from reaching work in India's commercial capital. The state government is contemplating imposing the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) which permits the arrest of any who fail to report for work.
