TransNamib Moves Drought Relief Commodities By Rail

The operator has managed to gain on the movement of about 1,000 tonnes of drought relief cargo from the Port of Walvis Bay to inland destinations within the country. This forms part of their continuous effort to build capacity, increase market share and delivering on their road-to-rail strategy in the short to medium term. Being more customer-driven, TransNamib packs and delivers this cargo which, is then dispatched at stations and returned from the customers' premises within the shortest time.

The drought relief programme forms part of the Government’s efforts to support the current drought challenges faced in the country as spearheaded by the Prime Minister’s Office.
