No more paper tickets at Washington DC

Platform access turnstiles at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) are no longer accepting paper tickets. The station machines now sell electronic cards which are said to be much more secure. The cards are resistant to moisture and demagnetising. If lost or stolen unused value
