CHICAGO FARES TO RISE 25%

Metra, the authority that operates the trains and buses in Chicago, is facing a $53.6 million budget deficit. In a drastic step to reverse this situation, fares are to rise by an average 25% from 1 February 2012. That's a pretty big increase in anybody's language.
