CALIFORNIA BANS DRIVERS' CELLPHONES

The California Public Utilities Commission has banned the use of cellphones, pagers, satellite phones and other personal electronic devices by railway personnel. This makes permanent an emergency ban already in place, following the 2008 head-on crash involving a driver who was sending text messages
