The Wegh Group Acquires Additional Shares In Travessas Do Norte

According to recent news post by the the Wegh Group, the company has consolidated its position as a manufacturer of sleepers and switch bearers in Mozambique with the acquisition of additional shares in Travessas Do Norte, already 52.2% owned through its subsidiary Wegh Mocambique.

The production plant in Namialo di Travessas Do Norte has a production capacity of 1600 crossbars per day and a production of over 1 million crossbars, per annum. The company is now strategically positioned for the supply of concrete sleepers and switch bearers to railways operating in Mozambique, and  for the construction of new lines planned internally and in the neighbouring countries.  The Wegh Group has decided to focus strongly on markets in the region that have great potential for development, particularly Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa and Namibia.
