Tanzania Kicks off Standard Gauge Railway Project

President of the United Republic of Tanzania on April 12, 2017, laid the foundation stone for the construction of the first section of the standard gauge railway between Dar es Salaam to Morogoro, at a length of 300 km. The first part of the construction of the railway is being done by Yapi Merkezi of Turkey in collaboration with Mota-Engil Africa and is scheduled to take 30 months from now.
