France’s Alstom is to supply trains for the first phase of Rabat’s $US2.5bn high-speed rail network. IT company Telvent (Nasdaq:TLVT), has announced that it is to implement its Telvent SmartMobilityTM solution in the new light rail system that will connect the Moroccan cities of Rabat and Sale. In 2007, France and Morocco signed a strategic partnership agreement to adapt the French TGV system. Alstom was nominated to supply rolling stock to Morocco and design, operate and maintain the proposed Tangier-Casablanca high-speed line.
