According to Die Burger on 14 May, the Bonnievale station building is being demolished. The article states that 300 more South African stations are to be broken down. A commentator points out that buildings more than 60 years old may not be demolished legally without a government permit. Another suggests that if the building is left vacant, it will be a ruin anyway within a matter of months.
