Posted on 15 January 2010
More than 60,000 residents of East Delhi are likely to use the new Yamuna Bank-Anand Vihar section of the city’s metro following its early January opening. Traffic flow on the main road passing through densely-populated residential and commercial areas is expected to benefit meaningfully.
Additional new lines are scheduled to open every other month until September, the Delhi Times reports. However, according to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation managing director E Sreedharan, the Inderlok-Mundka stretch is to be opened in February.
