AJAOKUTA-WARRI LINE CONTRACT

The Federal Government of Nigeria has awarded a US50 million contract for completion of the Ajaokuta-Warri line to Julius Berger Nigeria. The work involves laying 22km of track that remain to be finished including sidings at Aladja Delta Steel in Warri, construction work at six stations and rehabilitation of the initial 254km of line.

The project was stalled for about three years because the contractor had not been paid. The arrears owing have now been settled.
