Posted on 25 September 2009 by Railways Africa Editor

Abu Dhabi’s Surface Transport Master Plan provides for a 340km light rail network serving the central business district, the future capital city and the airport. It is hoped to have the first section in operation by 2014. In August, consultants were invited by the Department of Transport to submit bides for the preparation of a detailed study. Contract scope includes conceptual design and tender documentation.
