The Chinese civil engineering group CCECC has won three contracts worth €1.46 billion for new rail construction between Tissemlit and Boughzoul, Saida and Tiaret; and between M’Sila and Boughzoul in western Algeria. The lines will link the north of the country with high-lying regions in the west. The contracts were announced by Anesrif, the agency responsible for expanding Algeria’s railway network, Agence-France-Presse reports, but have yet to be ratified by the country’s commission for public works
