LETTERS AFTER METRORAIL DELAY

Posted on 21 May 2009 by Railways Africa Editor

On 14 May, trains approaching Cape Town via Ysterplaat were badly delayed when the signals at Bay Junction went down in a power failure. Commuters who were late for work thronged a Metrorail office at the main station to complain that they risked losing their jobs. They were handed stamped and signed official letters of explanation to give their employers, in which the rail company apologised for any inconvenience caused by late trains.
