GAUTRAIN BLOGGING SITE
Posted on 16 April 2009 by Station Master
It has been said that Gautrain is history in the making. Inspired to be part of this new legacy in the making, bloggers are telling their stories on a new site called GauHistory. The blog is easy to use and Gautrain invites bloggers from social media sites such as Facebook, YouTube and Flickr to share their favourite posts. Besides the new history blog, Gautrain also engages with social media enthusiasts on its Facebook page, home to more than 500 devoted fans.
Gautrain touches the everyday lives of many Gauteng residents who are increasingly interested in the construction as the project races towards completion. A historical highlight for many will be the much-anticipated climax in 2010 when Gauteng residents will be able take their first ride on the train between Sandton and OR Tambo International Airport.
Gautrain claims to be the largest greenfields rail project under construction in the world. It has already been a catalyst for a property boom along its route, skills development, job creation and increased economic activities, especially in the construction industry.
Ideally, Gautrain’s history should be written by the people for whom the train is being built. Log in at www.gautrain.co.za/history/ and help create the proud legacy of this world-class public transport project. Gautrain also interacts with its various stakeholders on several other websites accessed together with Gauhistory through www.gautrain.co.za , eg a youth website called MyTrain and one for children called Kids’ Station.
